When life seems to be getting a little hectic and I am bombarded with visual stimulation I am drawn to calm and serene spaces. A place where my eye can rest and my mind can be free to ponder the deeper things. A soft, muted color palette of whites and washed greys instantly calms the soul.
This 17th century seaside home located in Cornwall is a perfect example.
Now, I know that not everyone would consider rough firewood, soft linens and rustic objects d’art lovely…
or find beauty in simple things
but these images instantly put me in a state of peace and tranquility!
Sometimes we need to get away and regroup. And if you can’t get away,
creating a serene space at home
or even a special nook of you own
can have the same effect.
Finally, brethren ( or sisters!) whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is attractive, if there is any excellence and if anything is worthy of praise…
let your mind dwell on these things. Phil 4:8
Now that my visual palette has been cleansed I am ready face the riot of color and visual noise before me!
May you have a great day!
Blessings,
Cindy

Thanks for the visual rest. I needed that………
Hi – I just had to leave a comment as I love every single one of those images in your post. Gray and white are my favorite colors. Today, I just re-pinned one of those images to a Pinterest board. So glad I visited your blog via Sharon at La Vie En Rose…..loved seeing the rest of this beautiful home. Totally my palette. And, what an incredible setting.
Cheers from DC,
Loi
Thanks Loi~ I love this palette also! I am gradually switching everything in my home over to whites and greys! Glad you stopped by!

Cindy,
Gorgeous home with so many spaces I love – great kitchen! I agree, nothing clears the mint faster than the soft, muted color palette of whites. Besides the clean, classic, fresh feel of whites, there are so many options with regards to accessories. A pop of lime in a print, red tapestry in a pillow, soft pink, yellow flowers, or (my personal favorite) blue and white pieces of porcelain.
Very pretty!

absolutely beautiful, every space is bliss. I am currently redecorating my lounge and dining room with whites, greys..love it thank you for sharing
Oh Cindy! I’m relaxed just looking at these beautiful spaces. They are SO serene. I am so glad I painted my living room a pale grey (with a lavender hint!!) as so much more peaceful in there now! I’ll be doing my kitchen next and would love something like the white one above – DIVINE!!!
